Historical icons can be combined with our talent.
Lunenburg's Bluenose and her Captain, Angus Walters:
If there is one true icon of Lunenburg, it is the Bluenose. With Captain Walters on board, she was both a prestigious racing and fishing ship. The Bluenose was built in 1921 at Lunenburg's shipyards.
Captain Angus Walters House Museum: Required a post card design featuring photos of the Captain and the Bluenose. We suggested that we should find a snap shot of him standing beside the Bluenose. Since there is no such photo in existence our studio created the event!
• Original photos are faded (or underexposed), and damaged. We improved tonal range and sharpness of detail of both images.
• Captain Walters' face is shadowed by his hat's visor. We altered the lighting for natural effect.
• Note the cigar in his left hand. We were asked to remove the offending cigar in the final version.
• Yellow Dory Graphics suggested placing the captain near the bow of the vessel, associate him with the Bluenose. Client had originally asked for each image as separate elements on the card. Our approach convincingly brings to life an event from the past.
